What are the prerequisites for Penetration Testing with Kali Linux?
Penetration Testing with Kali Linux is a foundational course but still requires learners to have certain knowledge before attending the online class. A solid understanding of TCP/IP, networking, and reasonable Linux skills are required. Familiarity with Bash scripting along with basic Perl or Python is considered a plus.
How can I get access to the PEN-200 content?
Purchasing PEN-200 as part of a subscription, course and cert exam bundle, and lab extension will give you access to the content.
NOTE: 30-day lab extensions are only available for learners who purchased PEN-200 via the course and cert exam bundle packages. Learn subscribers may choose to renew their subscriptions.
How to be eligible for bonus points?
In order to receive ten (10) bonus points, you must submit at least 80% of the correct solutions for every module's lab in the PEN-200 course and submit 30 correct proof.txt hashes from 30 challenge lab machines in the OffSec Learning Platform.
Note: Bonus points apply to the OSCP exams taken until October 31 2024 only. For additional information, kindly refer to OSCP Exam changes.
When will I be able to download the PEN-200 materials?
You can download the course materials as soon as your access to the course has been activated.
NOTE: In order to be able to download the new materials, you will have to purchase the PEN-200 course through Course & Cert Exam Bundle or Learn subscription (Learn One, or Learn Unlimited).
Once the course has been activated, you may request to download the course materials.
The option to download is not available when you purchase a Lab extension or a Learn Enterprise subscription.

Where can I find the lab machines of the PEN-200 course?
Similar to Introductory-level learning paths, machines associated with a Learning Module for PEN-200 are included in the Training Material for that Learning Module to provide a more guided user experience.
The Labs section of the Learning Library will show Challenge Labs not associated with a learning module, but will not contain the machines associated with the course Learning Modules.
I purchased a PEN-200 license, what is the validity of the license?

No, once started, lab access can not be paused for any reason. You can view additional details here.
How do I get CPE points for PEN-200?
If you have passed your OSCP exam, you may qualify for 40 CPE points, which you must submit yourself via the ISC² members site.
If you have not passed the exam or opted not to take it, you must submit 80% correct topic lab solutions for each topic in your portal and request a formal completion letter by sending an email to "orders AT offsec DOT com".
How many hours are required to complete the PEN-200 course exercises?
The course exercises typically require over 40 hours to complete.
Do I need to hack every machine in the challenge labs to take the exam?
No. The machines in the challenge labs are there to give you as much experience as possible before you take the exam to better prepare you.
