If you are experiencing difficulties accessing our platform via VPN in Pakistan, it may be due to local restrictions imposed by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). To ensure uninterrupted access, you may need to whitelist specific IP addresses with the PTA. This guide provides all the necessary steps to assist you.
What is IP whitelisting in Pakistan, and why is it required?
IP whitelisting is a process that allows your VPN's specific IP addresses to be authorized for use within Pakistan, ensuring compliance with PTA regulations. Without this, your VPN access may be restricted, leading to connectivity issues.
How do I whitelist IP addresses with the PTA?
To whitelist IP addresses, you’ll need to register your VPN with the PTA. Follow these steps:
- Visit the official PTA VPN Registration page and follow the instructions.
- Register as an individual/freelancer.
- Provide the required documentation, including:
- A Letter of Authentication.
- A list of IP addresses associated with your course.
How do I request the IP addresses and Letter of Authentication?
You can obtain the necessary documents from us by emailing orders@offsec.com with the subject line "OffSec: VPN IP Whitelisting Request". Please include the following details in your email:
- Your OSID (OffSec Student ID).
- Your full name.
- The email address linked to your OffSec account.
Depending on your status, we will provide the appropriate documentation:
-
For registered or enrolled learners:
- A Registration Confirmation Letter or Authentication Letter verifying your enrollment and access requirements.
- A list of required IP addresses for submission to the PTA.
-
For individuals intending to enroll:
- A Letter of Intent to Enroll, confirming your intention to purchase an OffSec course.
- A list of required IP addresses for submission to the PTA.
How long does the IP whitelisting process take?
The processing time for IP whitelisting is determined solely by the PTA. OffSec has no control over their timeline or procedures. We strongly recommend starting the registration process as early as possible and regularly monitoring your status via the PTA portal.
Please note that the registration process is entirely managed by the PTA and falls outside OffSec's scope of support. As such:
- OffSec cannot expedite or intervene in the PTA’s registration process.
- OffSec does not offer refunds or restore access for delays or issues arising from the PTA’s registration requirements or timeline.
We encourage you to follow the PTA’s instructions carefully and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted to avoid any disruptions.
What if I encounter issues after completing the IP whitelisting?
- If you still face connectivity issues after your IP addresses are whitelisted:
- Check with your VPN provider to ensure compatibility with the whitelisted IPs.
- Contact us at help@offsec.com for further assistance or troubleshooting.
Can OffSec register on my behalf with the PTA?
No, OffSec cannot complete the registration process for you. You are responsible for registering directly with the PTA and providing all necessary documentation.
Will OffSec restore access or provide refunds if there are delays in the registration process?
No, OffSec will not provide access restoration or refunds due to delays or issues related to the PTA’s registration process.
