Does the PEN-210 course have any recommended hardware?
For a brief listing of compatible hardware, please see the listing below.
Recommended Wireless Cards
- Alfa AWUS036NHA
In general, most access points can be used for the course although some variations may occur. Your wireless card must be injection-capable so please refer to the Aircrack-ng wiki to verify compatibility.
What are the prerequisites for the PEN-210 course?
OffSec Foundational Wireless Network Attacks is completed at home by the learner, so the prerequisites necessary for this course are different from the other courses provided by OffSec. If not already owned, the learner will need to purchase a dedicated wireless Access Point and a wireless card that supports traffic injection. More information can be found in the respective course description and course documentation.
How long is the PEN-210 course?
The PEN-210 instructional course videos are roughly 3.5 hours long. Our learners report an average of 20 hours of labs.
What are the reporting requirements?
The only report that is required for OSWP is your exam report, where you are required to submit the retrieved wireless network keys, exam proof files and the steps that you took to gain them. However, we do suggest you take notes while you are doing the course as it will help solidify the information and make it easier to retrieve when you need a reminder of steps that need to be taken while attacking wireless networks.
How can I get access to the PEN-210 course?
The current PEN-210 course is available as part of our Learn Subscriptions in the Offsec Learning Library.
Note: For learners who took the original WiFu (PEN-210) online course outside of the Learning Library, the course was retired on July 20th, 2021 and the corresponding exam was retired on February 14th, 2022.
When can I take the new exam?
The new exam has already been released and can be scheduled on your PEN-210 exam page in your Learning Library account.
We encourage you to check out our Important information about exam scheduling in the Learning Library Article for more information and instructions.
