Creating a Class
How do I create a Partner-led class?
To create a class, follow these steps:
- Log into your OffSec Partner account
- Navigate to the Admin Console in the left hand navigation.
- Select Live Training
- Click ‘Create Class’
You will be asked to provide the class details, including the class name, course, dates, delivery format, location if applicable, instructors, and learner instructions.
What information should I include when creating a class?
Include clear, learner-ready information, such as:
- A recognizable class name
- The course being delivered
- Start and end dates
- Delivery format
- Location or remote access details, if applicable
- Any instructions learners need before class begins
What should I enter in the class instructions?
Use the instructions field for information learners need to know before attending class.
This may include:
- How to join the class
- What to prepare before the first day
- Location or access details
- Schedule expectations
- Any Partner-specific instructions
The instructions are shared with learners, so they should be written clearly and be ready for external use.
Can I set a class capacity?
Yes. You can set a class capacity to help manage class size.
If the number of learners goes above the capacity, the system may show a warning, but it will not prevent you from continuing.
Can I edit a class after creating it?
Yes, but available edits depend on the class status.
Before the class starts, you can make updates to class details and manage the learner roster. Once the class is in progress or completed, some changes may no longer be available.
Learners and Licenses
How do I add learners to a class?
Learners can be added from the class roster in Live Training.
The learner list is based on individuals associated with your Partner account.
Do learners need course access before they are added to a class?
Learners should have the appropriate course access for the class they are attending.
If a learner appears to be missing access, you may see a warning so you can review and assign the appropriate license if needed.
Does creating a class automatically assign licenses?
No. Creating a Live Training class does not automatically assign licenses.
Licenses should continue to be managed from the existing Licenses page.
Where do I assign or manage learner licenses?
You can assign, view, and manage learner licenses from the Licenses page.
From there, you can review available licenses, assign licenses to learners, and make any needed updates to existing learner license assignments.
Can I add a learner who already has a license?
Yes. A learner who already has access can still be added to a class when they appear in your available learner list.
Instructors
How do I add instructors to a class?
During class setup, you can add instructors by selecting them from the instructor list available to your Partner account.
Only instructors associated with your Partner account will appear in the list.
Are instructors notified when they are added to a class?
Yes. Instructors receive an email with class details after they are added to a class.
Learner Notifications
Are learners notified when they are added to a class?
Yes. Learners receive an email notification when they are added to a class roster.
The email lets them know they have been added to the class and may include any relevant next steps for accessing their learning experience.
What information is included in the learner email?
The learner email includes key class details, such as:
- Class name
- Course
- Dates
- Delivery format
- Location, if applicable
- Instructor information
- Instructions provided by the class organizer
- Certificate information, when applicable
Do learners need to accept the class email?
No. The class email is informational only and does not require the learner to accept an invitation.
Once the learner has been added to the class roster, no additional acceptance step is needed from the email.
Managing a Class
What class statuses will I see?
A class may appear as:
-
Upcoming
The class has been created and has not started yet. -
Live
The class is currently in progress. -

Can I add or remove learners after a class starts?
Learners should be added or removed before the class begins whenever possible.
Limited roster changes may be available once a class starts. Once a class is completed, learner roster changes may no longer be available in the platform.
Can I resend the learner email?
Yes. If the class is still upcoming or in progress, you can resend the learner email from the class roster.
Attendance
How is attendance tracked?
Attendance is tracked by learner and class day.
For each class day, a learner can be marked as:
- Attended
- Not attended
- No class
Who can mark attendance?
Instructors and authorized Partner admins can mark attendance.
When can attendance be marked?
Attendance becomes available once the class is in progress.
Attendance can also be updated after the class ends if corrections are needed.
Why is attendance important?
Attendance is used to determine whether learners meet the attendance requirement for a certificate of attendance.
Reports
What reports are available for a class?
Partners can view learner progress reporting for the course associated with the class.
Can I download class report data?
Yes. Class report data can be downloaded as a CSV.
When can I view class reporting?
Class reporting is available once the class is in progress and remains available after the class is completed.
Certificates
Can learners earn a certificate of attendance?
Yes. Learners may earn a certificate of attendance after the class is completed if they meet the attendance requirement.
What is the attendance requirement?
Learners must attend at least 70% of applicable class days to be eligible for a certificate of attendance.
Days marked as No class do not count against the learner.
When does a certificate become available?
Certificates become available after the class is completed and the learner meets the attendance requirement.
Where do learners access their certificates?
Eligible learners can access their certificate from their Achievements page.
Can Partners review certificate status?
