Offensive Security offers a range of certifications, badges, and pins to recognize and validate learners' skills and achievements. This article provides detailed information on the types of credentials available, the criteria for earning them, and guidance on how to claim, view, and display these digital recognitions.
Earned certifications, badges, and pins may also appear in your OffSec profile experience, including your Achievements Page and Skills Passport tab. Skills Passport may include shareable cards that help you showcase a broader snapshot of your OffSec journey, while Accredible remains the official source for viewing, sharing, and verifying individual digital credentials.

What type of credentials does OffSec issue?
Depending on the training a learner goes through, upon successfully meeting certain criteria that demonstrate their mastery of the training content and competencies, learners may achieve the following types of credentials:
- Certification
- Achievement-based Badge
- Progress-based Badge
- Pins
For a detailed list of what certification or badge can be achieved for OffSec training, see the section below.

| Progress-based Badge | Learning Paths | Specific per Learning Path. Learn more here. | Step by step instructions |
| Pins | Skill paths | In order to earn a pin, learner must have 100% completion of labs for the skill path | Step by step instructions |
To learn more about how to manage a claimed digital credential, see the Digital Certification FAQ.
Once earned and claimed, eligible credentials may also appear in your OffSec profile experience, including your Achievements Page and Skills Passport tab. These credentials may be reflected in your Skills Passport shareable cards as part of your broader OffSec achievement profile.
What is the difference between a certification and a badge?
An OffSec Certification is an indicator of trust. It certifies that OffSec, as an official certifying body, trusts the learner to perform at a certain level.
An OffSec Badge is an indicator of competency. It signals that a learner is adept at a certain skill set. In particular, assessments indicate that a learner likely has the prerequisites necessary to succeed in higher-level OffSec training.
Certifications and badges may also appear in your Achievements Page and Skills Passport experience after they are earned and claimed.
NOTE: For official credential verification, use your Accredible digital credential or verification link — not your Skills Passport card.
What is a pin?
A pin is a digital credential you earn upon completing 100% of the Skill Path exercises, showcasing the skills you've mastered.
Pins are issued exclusively through the OffSec portal — they are not issued via Accredible.
After a pin is earned and claimed, it may appear in your Achievements Page and may also be reflected in your Skills Passport experience, once earned, claimed, and after your profile has refreshed.
Why do some learning paths require passing an assessment?
For the learning paths that come with assessments, the badge indicates to the learner and (potential) employers that they have achieved competency in all the prerequisites necessary to begin the next-level course.

How can I tell when I completed 80% of a module's lab ?
You can track your progress in the Progress section of the Learning Modules list by expanding the Progress field for each module.
Note: Lab exercises may be present in both the “Text” training materials as well as the dedicated “Labs” section.
What are the criteria for obtaining a progress-based badge?
After opening the Learning Path, you can find the criteria needed to attain a progress-based badge at the top of the Learning Modules list.
How to get a Certificate of Completion for the badges/certifications that I got?
You can find the course completion requirements for all of our courses in our existing article here.
How can I claim and view my pin?
Once you achieve 100% completion in the Skill Path labs, the View pin and certificate button on your Skill Path page will become available.
Follow these steps to claim and view your pin and certificate:
- Click the View pin & certificate button on your Skill Path page
- To view your pin, select View pin — you will be redirected to Accredible, where you can view and share your pin as desired
- To view your completion certificate, select View certificate — from there, you can download or share your certificate as needed
- You can also view, share, and download your completion certificate from your Achievements Page
Claimed pins may also be reflected in your Skills Passport experience. Skills Passport cards are designed to help you share a broader snapshot of your OffSec progress, but they do not replace your official Accredible credential or certificate.
Which Learning Path's should I have access to?
You are able to access Learning Path Modules based on your active subscription.
To learn more of what you can access, please visit our article here.
What is the difference between Accredible credentials and Skills Passport cards?
Accredible credentials and Skills Passport cards serve different purposes.
Accredible credentials are official digital credentials for individual certifications, badges, and pins. Use Accredible to view, verify, download, or share a specific credential.
Skills Passport cards are OffSec-branded shareable cards that highlight a broader snapshot of your OffSec journey. Depending on your achievements, these cards may include certifications, badges, pins, level, XP, labs completed, time in labs, flags captured, and other achievement stats.
Use Accredible when you need official verification for a specific credential. Use Skills Passport cards when you want to share your broader OffSec progress externally, such as on LinkedIn.
Where to access each:
- Accredible credentials — go to your Achievements tab on your profile and click on a claimed credential to be redirected to Accredible.
- Skills Passport cards — go to My Profile — the Skills Passport tab is shown by default. Browse the carousel and use the download control to save your card.
Can my certifications, badges, and pins appear on my Skills Passport?
Yes. Eligible certifications, badges, and pins may appear in your Skills Passport experience after they are earned and claimed.
Skills Passport provides a broader view of your OffSec journey and may include your achievements alongside other all-time progress stats such as labs completed, time in labs, and flags captured.
If a credential does not appear on your Skills Passport, check that:
- The credential has been earned
- The credential has been claimed on your Achievements tab — unclaimed credentials will not appear
- The credential appears on your Achievements Page
- You have refreshed your profile
- If you hold both OSCP and OSCP+, only OSCP+ will appear on your Skills Passport card — this is expected behavior
If the credential still does not appear after checking all of the above, submit a support request and our team will review your account.
Are Skills Passport cards official certification verification documents?
No. Skills Passport cards are designed for sharing your broader OffSec progress and achievements externally — they are not official verification documents.
They do not replace:
- Official Accredible digital certificates
- Official Accredible badges or pins
- Accredible verification links used for third-party or employer verification
If you need to verify a specific certification, badge, or pin, use the Accredible credential or verification link associated with that credential.
For more information on official credential verification, see the Digital Certification FAQ.
