We're excited to introduce OffSec Standalone Assessments—designed to help you and your organization quickly benchmark foundational skills without the need to commit to a specific course, module, or learning path. It’s a fast, flexible way to understand where your skills stand and what to focus on next.
Purpose and Benefits
- Quick Skill Evaluation: Determine your current knowledge level in core areas of offensive or defensive security.
- Training Readiness: Use the results to assess preparedness before diving into a full course or certification path.
- Skill Gap Identification: Pinpoint areas where additional training or upskilling may be necessary.
- Organizational Insights: Help employers or team leads gauge overall team readiness or training needs.
Access and availability
- These assessments are accessible in the Assessments Menu.
- All standalone assessments are available to all active Learn subscribers, regardless of the enrollment in specific courses or paths, as long as the Learn subscription is still active.

Where can I find these assessments on the platform?
To find the assessments, you may:
- Login to your OffSec Learning platform account.

Select the “Assessments” menu on the left side navigation.

- Using the search functionality
- You may also enable the “My content” toggle to learn which assessments is available for you. You can find it either the “Assessments Menu” or the “Explore menu” at the left side of the page.
Do these standalone assessments count toward course progress or certification?
No. These are standalone and not linked to any course, module, or certification path. They are intended solely for self-evaluation and baseline testing.
Can organizations use these assessments for team evaluations?
Yes. These assessments provide valuable insights into employee or team readiness and can help drive data-informed training decisions.
How can I attempt an assessment?
To take an assessment, follow these steps:
- Go to the Assessments Menu
- Choose the assessment you would like to take
- Click the “Start Assessment” button
- Carefully read the instructions provided.
- Click "Start Assessment" to begin.
How long do I have to complete an assessment?
The duration depends on the assessment. Once you click on the “Start assessment”, the duration to complete it will be visible.
Can I end my assessment early?
Yes, you may end your assessment at any time. To do so, scroll to the Next Steps section at the end of the question list and click Submit Assessment.
Please note that once you submit the assessment, you will no longer be able to edit any of your answers. Your results will be displayed immediately after submission.
Are retake options available for these standalone assessments?
Yes. As long as your Learn subscription remains active, you may retake the assessment as many times as needed even after passing.
Is there a cooling off period for the standalone assessments?
There is no cooling-off period between attempts.
Is there a badge that I can claim, after passing the baseline assessment?
There is no badge for passing the baseline assessment. Instead, you will receive a congratulations message upon successful completion.
Can these assessments be used towards CPE?
