What is OffSec's policy on exam accommodations for candidates with disabilities?
OffSec is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, in compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA). This policy applies to every OffSec certification exam.
Candidates who receive an accommodation are evaluated against the same competence requirements and passing standards as all other candidates. OffSec reviews each request objectively and consistently, based on the documentation provided, so that no accommodation introduces an unfair advantage. Accommodations are decided on a case-by-case basis to protect fairness, operational consistency, and exam security.
How do I request an exam accommodation?
To request an accommodation, follow these steps:
- Complete the ADA Authorization Request Form.
- Attach a medical letter that includes a hospital stamp and the doctor's or hospital's contact details, so OffSec can verify the documentation.
- Email the completed form and supporting documentation to challenges@offsec.com prior to your exam.
Note: Submit one request per exam. Approval for an accommodation on one exam does not carry over to a different exam or a different type of accommodation — you must submit a new request for review and approval.
Note: Processing may take up to 10 business days. Submit your request well ahead of your scheduled exam date.
What accommodations are available?
Accommodation types are reviewed on a per-request basis and may include, at OffSec's discretion, an exam time extension or an exam report submission extension. OffSec applies the same eligibility criteria and review process across all certification exams, so that candidates are treated consistently regardless of which exam they are taking.
What happens if my accommodation request is denied?
If OffSec denies an accommodation request, you may file an appeal. To do so, complete the ADA Report Form and email it to challenges@offsec.com within seven (7) days of the denial email.
Is my documentation kept confidential?
Yes, all documentation submitted with an accommodation request or appeal is kept confidential. Access is limited to the personnel responsible for evaluating and implementing accommodations.
