General Information & Benefits
What is AMP?
The Annual Membership Program (AMP) is an auto-renewing annual membership priced at $299 per year.
The AMP is designed to give learners access to a rotating selection of our hands-on labs and modules, all CPE-eligible, ongoing access to updated course materials if previously purchased, and exclusive benefits that help them stay current and keep building their skills.
For learners who hold an eligible expiring certification, AMP also includes the annual maintenance coverage needed to help keep that certification active.
In practical terms, AMP can support learners in two ways:
- as an ongoing learning membership with continued hands-on practice and content access
- as a way to meet annual maintenance coverage requirements for eligible expiring certifications
If you are only looking for annual maintenance coverage and do not need AMP’s broader learning benefits, please see the OffSec Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) FAQ.
For full details about certification maintenance and CPE requirements, please refer to the CPE Handbook.
What’s included with AMP?
AMP includes:
- Access to a quarterly rotating selection of CPE-eligible content and labs including Shiny Labs, Grimoires, and OCR/DCR scenarios
- Proving Grounds Practice with 250+ labs
- Access to course materials and videos for main courses, if previously purchased (see Access to Course Materials)
- Annual Maintenance Fee coverage ($145 value)
This means AMP can be useful in different ways depending on your situation. It supports continued hands-on learning through ongoing access to practice and content, and for learners with eligible expiring certifications, it also includes annual maintenance coverage.
What are Shiny Labs, Grimoires, and Cyber Range Scenarios?
These are examples of the types of hands-on labs that may be included in AMP.
Shiny Labs
Shiny Labs focus on large, complex, interconnected environments. They are designed for learners who want to work through more realistic, research-driven challenges that involve multiple stages rather than a single guided path.
Grimoires
Grimoires are defensive investigation exercises covering topics such as forensics, malware analysis, incident response, and threat hunting. If you have participated in Gauntlet events before, you may already be familiar with this format.
Cyber Range Scenarios
Cyber Range Scenarios are based on OffSec’s Enterprise Cyber Ranges and are designed to reflect realistic offensive and defensive situations. These scenarios span many attack vectors and categories, including labs inspired by real-world CVEs.
Is AMP only for learners with expiring certifications?
No.
AMP is not limited to certification maintenance. It is also for learners who want continued access to hands-on practice and learning benefits throughout the year.
If you do have an eligible expiring certification, AMP also satisfies the annual maintenance coverage requirement for that certification during the applicable maintenance period.
If your only goal is to maintain an eligible expiring certification and you do not need the broader membership benefits, you may prefer the option described in the OffSec Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) FAQ.
Certification Expiration
Do all OffSec certifications expire?
No. Most OffSec certifications do not expire and remain valid indefinitely.
Only the certifications listed below expire after three years and require annual maintenance coverage to remain active:
- OSCP+
- OSAI+
- OSCC-SEC
- OSCC-SJD
- OSTH
- OSIR
The following certifications do not expire and do not require annual maintenance:
- OSCP
- OSAI
- OSWP
- OSWA
- OSWE
- OSEP
- OSED
- OSEE
- OSDA
- KLCP
- OSCE3
Do I need AMP if my certification does not expire?
No. You do not need AMP or AMF to keep a non-expiring certification valid.
However, you may still choose to purchase AMP. If you do, you will receive the access and benefits included with AMP, such as rotating labs, PG Practice, CPE-eligible content, and eligible course materials based on your purchase history.
If you are trying to understand maintenance options specifically for expiring certifications, you may also want to review the OffSec Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) FAQ.
Maintenance Requirements
Does AMP include certification maintenance?
Yes.
If you hold an eligible expiring certification, AMP includes the annual maintenance coverage needed for that certification during the applicable maintenance period.
That means you do not need to purchase AMF separately for the same period if you already have AMP.
Supported expiring certifications include:
- OSCP+
- OSAI+
- OSCC-SEC
- OSCC-SJD
- OSTH
- OSIR
Do I need annual maintenance coverage every year?
Only if you hold an eligible expiring certification and want to keep it active.
For those certifications, maintenance is not handled as a one-time action at the end of three years. Instead, maintenance coverage is required for each year of the 3-year certification cycle.
That yearly coverage can be satisfied in either of these ways:
- by having an active AMP
- by purchasing AMF
You do not need both for the same maintenance period.
This is important because AMP and AMF are simply two different ways to meet the same annual maintenance requirement:
- AMP includes maintenance coverage and also provides broader learning benefits
- AMF is for learners who only need maintenance coverage
If you want to learn more about the maintenance-only option, please see the OffSec Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) FAQ.
If I choose AMP, do I also need to buy AMF?
No.
AMP already includes the annual maintenance coverage needed for eligible expiring certifications. If AMP is active for the relevant maintenance period, there is no need to purchase AMF separately for that same period.
A helpful way to think about it is this:
If your goal is to meet the annual maintenance requirement, you can do that with either AMP or AMF. AMP simply includes additional learning access alongside that maintenance coverage.
How does maintenance work if I have more than one expiring certification?
If you hold more than one eligible expiring certification, you do not need separate maintenance coverage for each one.
You only need one active maintenance option per year for your eligible expiring certifications. In practice, that means one active AMP or one active AMF covers the applicable maintenance period for all supported expiring certifications under that cycle.
Your maintenance cycle is aligned with the anniversary of your first expiring certification. If you earn another eligible expiring certification later, it will be grouped into that same maintenance cycle.
This is meant to simplify maintenance so learners are not managing separate annual timelines for each supported certification.
If you would like to read about this from the maintenance-only perspective, see the OffSec Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) FAQ.
When does AMP start and how long does it last?
AMP access starts on the date of purchase and lasts for one year. It renews automatically unless cancelled.
For learners with eligible expiring certifications, the maintenance coverage included with AMP applies to the relevant annual maintenance period for that certification cycle.
If your main question is not about membership access, but about maintenance timing alone, the OffSec Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) FAQ may also be helpful.
Eligibility & Purchasing
Who is eligible to purchase AMP?
Any individual learners can purchase AMP through your Buy More page. Access benefits are determined by your purchase history.
Important:
Organizational full admins are not currently able to purchase AMP or AMF directly through the platform.
How do I purchase AMP?
If AMP is available to you, go to the Buy More page in your OffSec Learning account and complete your purchase there.
If you run into any issues or have questions about what is available on your account, please contact OffSec Support.
I’m an organization admin and I don’t see AMP on the Buy More page. Why?
At this time, AMP is not available for direct self-service purchase by users with full organization admin permissions.
Eligible individual learners, including sub-admins and learners who were enrolled through an organization invite, may see AMP on the Buy More page.
If you are a full organization admin and would like to purchase AMP for yourself, please contact our training consultants for assistance.
I only need certification maintenance. Should I still purchase AMP?
That depends on what you want from your account experience.
If you want:
- annual maintenance coverage for an eligible expiring certification, and
- ongoing access to hands-on practice and membership benefits,
then AMP may be a good fit.
If you only need the maintenance requirement itself and do not need AMP’s additional benefits, please review the OffSec Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) FAQ.
The best choice depends on whether you want maintenance coverage only, or maintenance coverage together with broader learning access.
How can I view the benefits included with my AMP membership after purchase?
After purchasing AMP, you can view your membership benefits at any time by opening your username dropdown menu and selecting My Access.
Access to Course Materials
How do previous purchases affect AMP course material access?
AMP may include access to main course materials and videos for eligible courses based on your previous qualifying purchases.
Qualifying purchases include:
- Course & Cert Exam Bundle — access to the main course materials and videos
-
Previous 30/60/90-day packages or PWK365 — access to the main course materials and videos for applicable current main courses
Note: This does not apply to PEN-210 - Learn One — access to the main course materials and videos, excluding 100-level courses
- OffSec CyberCore — access to the main course materials for SJD-100 and SEC-100
OffSec may also consider eligible historical purchases when determining course material access under AMP. Refunded purchases are not eligible.
What purchases do not qualify for AMP course material access?
The following do not qualify for course material access through AMP:
- Retired products such as EXP-312 and CTP
- Prior access through Learn Unlimited or Learn Enterprise
- Complimentary access
- Learn Enterprise trials
- Academy products
It is also important to note that AMP only considers eligible purchases made before the AMP purchase date. Purchases made after AMP is activated do not expand or extend AMP course material access.
Can you give an example of how AMP course material access works?
Yes.
For example:
- If you purchased a 30-day PWK in 2015 and Learn One with PEN-300 in 2025, AMP may grant access to the main course materials for both PEN-200 and PEN-300.
- If you purchase AMP on April 1, 2026, and then purchase a PEN-200 Course & Cert Exam Bundle on April 5, 2026, AMP does not extend PEN-200 access beyond the access period included with that Course & Cert Exam Bundle.
What practice content is included with AMP?
All AMP subscribers receive access to:
- A quarterly rotating selection of CPE-eligible content and labs, including Shiny Labs, Grimoires, and OCR/DCR scenarios
- Proving Grounds Practice with 250+ labs
These benefits are available to AMP subscribers regardless of prior course purchase history.
