What is Archived Content?
Archived content refers to older or retired course modules that are no longer part of the current, actively maintained curriculum but may still be relevant or useful to learners. These materials have been preserved for reference purposes.
Expected Behavior when Accessing archived contents
When accessing archived modules on the OffSec Learning Platform, you can expect the following:
-
Labeling:
The module title will include the label "archived" at the end, clearly identifying it as retired content.
Example: “Dylib Injection archived” -
Access for Active Learners:
Learners who have active access to the course (i.e., within their subscription or course access period) can still view and study the archived modules.
Why Does OffSec Keep Archived Content Available?
Archived modules are retained to:
-
Support learners who began studying older material and still wish to review it.
-
Offer continuity during curriculum transitions or course updates.
-
Provide access to useful learning references that, while no longer maintained, still hold educational value.
However, since these modules are no longer actively updated or supported, they may:
-
Not contain online lab any longer within the module
-
Contain outdated tools, techniques, or references
-
Be excluded from exams or assessments unless otherwise specified.
Best Practice for Learners
-
Prioritize current modules for exam preparation and updated knowledge.
-
Use archived content as supplementary learning material or historical reference.
-
Check the title labels to differentiate between active and archived modules.
