Eligible purchases can be paid for in a supported local currency at checkout. This article explains how local currency payments affect purchases, subscription renewals, receipts, and refunds.
Why does the website show prices in USD while checkout shows my local currency?
Prices on the OffSec website and product pages are displayed in USD. When you reach the payment page, our payment processor, Stripe, may offer a supported local currency based on your payment and billing information.
Please review the currency and total amount on the payment page before completing your purchase.
Can I choose to pay in USD?
Yes. When a supported local currency is available, you can use the currency selector on the payment page to choose between that currency and USD before completing your purchase.
If a local currency option is not available, your purchase will be displayed and charged in USD.
How is the exchange rate determined? Are there conversion costs?
Stripe determines the exchange rate used to convert the USD price into your selected local currency. The rate includes a currency conversion cost, typically 2–4%, which is reflected in the local currency price shown at checkout.
Your bank or card issuer may also apply separate fees. Please contact your financial institution for information about any charges it applies.
For more information, please see Are there any additional fees for international transactions?.
What currency will be used for my subscription renewals?
Your subscription will renew in the same currency used for the original purchase.
For subscriptions purchased in a supported local currency, the exchange rate is determined when each renewal is processed. The currency remains the same, but the final amount may vary based on the applicable exchange rate and conversion costs.
Why does my upcoming renewal show an amount in USD?
Your Billing page may display an estimated USD amount for an upcoming renewal, even if you purchased your subscription in a supported local currency.
Your renewal will still be charged in the subscription’s original currency. The final local currency amount is determined when the renewal is processed, using the applicable exchange rate and conversion costs.
Can I change the currency used for an existing subscription?
No. Once a subscription is purchased in a specific currency, future renewals will be charged in that same currency. The currency cannot be changed for the existing subscription.
You can update your payment card or billing information through Billing > Update card. However, these updates do not change your subscription’s renewal currency or any previous transactions.
For instructions, please see Update credit card information.
What currency will appear on my receipt?
Your receipt displays the currency and amount used for the completed payment. If you paid in a supported local currency, your receipt will show the amount in that currency.
For instructions on viewing or downloading your receipt, please see Receipts, Billing Information, and Invoices FAQ.
What currency will be used if I receive a refund?
Eligible refunds are processed in the same currency used for the original payment.
For payments made in a supported local currency, the refund uses the original transaction’s exchange rate and includes the conversion cost associated with the amount being refunded. Any applicable OffSec refund fee still applies.
Fees charged separately by your bank or card issuer are handled by that institution. Please contact them to confirm whether those fees are refundable.
Paying in a local currency does not change refund eligibility. For the applicable requirements and fees, please see Can I receive a refund for my purchase?.
What should I do if the currency or amount appears incorrect?
Please submit a request and include the following information:
- Your order or transaction ID, if available.
- The currency and amount you expected.
- The currency and amount displayed or charged.
- A screenshot of the relevant payment page, receipt, Billing page, or refund notification.
Important: Remove or mask sensitive payment information, such as your full card number or security code, before submitting screenshots.
