Upskill Program Reporting helps Learn Enterprise administrators understand where learners started, where they are now, how far they have progressed, and who may need additional support.
Overview
Upskill Program Reporting provides a placement-aware view of learner progress through an Upskill Program.
Rather than showing progress only as content completion, the report brings together placement, stage movement, learning activity, content progress, and assessment information.
Administrators can use the report to answer three key questions:
- Where is each learner in the program?
- How does the learner’s current stage compare with their placement baseline?
- Which learners may be inactive, stuck, or disengaged?
Common ways to use the report
Identify learners who have progressed
Compare Placement, Current stage, and Stage movement to see which learners have advanced beyond their baseline.
Understand cohort progression
Use Stage distribution to compare where learners placed with where they are currently positioned.
Find learners who may need follow-up
Use Inactive 14+ days to identify placed learners without recent content-progress activity.
Investigate blocked progress
Open the learner’s current stage to review content progress and assessment status.
Review assessment history
Use the Assessment tab to review attempts, scores, failures, passes, and attempts completed after stage requirements were already met.
Distinguish credit from actual content completion
Use the Content tab to determine whether an item was actually completed or displays Requirements met because the stage already received credit.
Verify program completion
Confirm that every stage displays Requirements met. Individual unfinished content does not prevent program completion once all stage requirements have been satisfied.
How to access Upskill Program Reporting
In the Admin Console, go to:
Reports → By Upskill Program
From here, select an Upskill Program to open its reporting view.
Administrators can then move through several reporting levels:
Program → Learner → Stage → Content or Assessment
Each level provides navigation back to the previous report, and browser back navigation is also supported.
Review Upskill Programs
The By Upskill Program view provides a high-level summary of available programs.
For each program, administrators can review:
- Program: Program name and description
- Placed: Number of learners who completed placement and received a placement stage
- Stage distribution: Distribution of learners across program stages
- Upskilled: Number of learners who moved at least one stage beyond their placement baseline
Administrators can also search programs, filter by group, and download available report data.
Review learners in a program
After selecting a program, the Learners view provides three key metrics:
- Placed learners: Learners who completed placement and received a placement stage
- Upskilled: Learners who moved at least one stage beyond their placement baseline
- Inactive 14+ days: Placed learners with no content-progress activity for at least 14 days
Stage distribution
The Stage distribution section provides a visual comparison between:
- Placement: Where learners originally entered the program
- Current stage: Where those learners are now
Both distributions use the same learner population and stage scale, making it easier to see how the cohort has progressed.
Stage counts are available when interacting with the distribution.
Learners table
The Learners table includes:
- Learner name and email
- Last activity
- Placement stage
- Current stage
- Stage movement
- Stage progress
Stage movement shows how many stages a learner has progressed beyond their placement stage.
For example:
- +1 means the learner advanced one stage
- +2 means the learner advanced two stages
- — means the learner has not yet moved beyond their placement baseline
Administrators can:
- Search for a learner
- Filter learners by group
- Download a CSV
- Review learners across paginated results
Learners are sorted alphabetically by default.
Which learners appear in the report?
A learner appears in Upskill Program Reporting only after completing placement and receiving a placement stage.
The following learners do not yet appear:
- Learners who have program activity but have not completed placement
- Learners who started but have not completed the placement assessment
- Learners who opened the program but have not yet completed placement
Once placement is completed and the learner receives a placement stage, the learner appears in the report.
This ensures that every learner in the report has a clear placement baseline against which progress can be measured.
Understand placement and stage credit
Placement determines the stage where the learner is recommended to begin.
If a learner is placed into Stage N, stages before that placement stage receive credit because the learner demonstrated the required knowledge during placement.
These earlier stages display:
Requirements met
For example, if a learner places into Stage 4:
- Stage 1 → Requirements met
- Stage 2 → Requirements met
- Stage 3 → Requirements met
- Stage 4 → Placement stage
A stage can also become Requirements met when the learner passes that stage’s own assessment.
Requirements met is the unified status used when a stage has been fulfilled, regardless of whether the credit came from placement or from passing the stage assessment.
What does Upskilled mean?
Upskilled measures stage movement beyond the learner’s placement baseline.
A learner is counted as Upskilled when they move at least one stage beyond the stage where they were originally placed.
This occurs when the learner passes:
- The assessment for their placement stage, or
- An assessment for a higher stage
A qualifying assessment completed outside the Upskill Program can also contribute to stage movement.
Content activity by itself does not count as Upskilled.
Program Completed
A learner reaches Program Completed when every stage in the program has its requirements met.
A stage may receive credit through:
- Placement, or
- Passing the stage’s assessment
Hands-on content completion does not independently gate program completion.
This means unfinished learning activities such as:
- Unsubmitted flags
- Unread pages
- Unwatched videos
- Other unfinished content
do not prevent Program Completed status once all stage requirements have been satisfied.
Placement can position a learner at the final stage, but the learner must still pass the final stage assessment to complete the program.
When a learner completes the program:
- The final stage remains visible as the learner’s Current stage
- A Program Completed indicator appears alongside it
- Stage movement remains visible
Review an individual learner
Selecting a learner opens a more detailed report.
The learner report highlights:
- Placement stage: Where the learner started
- Stage movement: How many stages the learner has progressed beyond placement
- Last activity: The learner’s most recent activity date
The stage-by-stage table shows:
- Stage
- Last activity
- Stage assessment
- Progress
Possible stage-assessment statuses are:
- Requirements met
- Failed
- In Progress
- Not started
The learner’s current stage is clearly identified.
Understand Stage movement
Stage movement compares the learner’s current recommended stage with their placement stage.
For example, if a learner:
- Places into Stage 2
- Progresses to Stage 4
their Stage movement is:
+2
Stage movement never becomes negative because previously earned stage credit is permanent.
For learners who complete the program, the Stage movement value remains visible so administrators can still understand how far the learner progressed from their original placement stage.
Review a stage
Selecting a stage opens additional details about the learner’s progress within that stage.
The stage summary includes:
- Content Items Completed
- Stage Assessment
- Last Activity
Each stage includes separate Content and Assessment tabs.
Content tab
The Content tab shows:
- Content name
- Content type, such as Module or Lab
- Status
- Last activity
- Progress
Content status reflects what the learner actually did.
Possible statuses include:
- Completed
- In Progress
- Requirements met
An item is marked Completed only when the learner actually completed that item.
If the stage received credit through placement or through a stage assessment, unfinished content is not falsely marked Completed. Instead, it can display Requirements met.
Partially worked content continues to display In Progress.
This allows administrators to distinguish between content the learner actually completed and content that no longer needs to be completed because the stage requirements have already been satisfied.
Assessment tab
The Assessment tab shows the learner’s complete assessment-attempt history.
It includes:
- Assessment name
- Start date
- End date
- Duration
- Score
- Status
- Result
- View Results action
Assessment history remains available even when the stage requirements have already been met.
When an assessment’s allotted time expires, the attempt is submitted and graded. There is no separate Abandoned status.
What happens after stage requirements are met?
Stage credit is permanent.
Once a stage becomes Requirements met, later assessment attempts do not remove that credit.
For example:
- A learner receives stage credit through placement.
- The learner later attempts that stage’s assessment.
- Whether that later attempt passes or fails, the stage continues to display Requirements met.
The new assessment attempt is still recorded in the Assessment tab.
There is no change from Placed out to Passed because the report uses the single fulfilled-stage status Requirements met.
Does passing one stage affect other stages?
No.
Stage credit applies only to the stage whose requirements were met.
For example, if a learner passes the Stage 4 assessment:
- Stage 4 becomes Requirements met
- Stage 3 does not automatically receive credit
- Other stages retain their existing status
Each stage must receive its own credit through placement or its own stage assessment.
